We are having a BOY!

We were in the Ultra Sound room and the tech asks, are you ready to find out. We said, wait a second and asked Ava, what do you think? She said, A BOY! and she was right. This is a pretty big deal for her to guess because she has been pretty indifferent up till now as a big cousin and I think she is starting to get excited. She asks me questions about the Baby when I see her now.
Cory, Katie and Ava were in the room when we found out then they went to the waiting room to let the Grandma's come in. I asked if they knew and they said no, but Cory walked out with a big smile on his face. I looked at Nancy and said we're in trouble! She said it's a boy! Then Mom and Nancy starting asking questions like can they tell how big the baby is going to be when he comes out, cuz his Daddy was 11 lbs. Ha! Ha! Not so funny!
Great Grandpa Carr and Grandpa Mike came in next they were in there for a short time then the girls came back in with Cory.
Yes, we had most of the clan in there:)

Rolstad Baby Site
Cory and Kelli have been married just over 3 years and found out they were expecting their first on October 5th, 2011. The pregnancy test came out positive around 10:30pm. Kelli still had one more series to skate in OH as the flight was booked for 7am on Friday morning. The only thing she could think about on the ice is not getting sick or where the closest garbage was. She was sick a few days before the pregnancy test but thought that it was a side effect of the flu shot. It was a good thing the baby made Kelli sick because it made it easier to turn back her hockey games and sit it out the rest of the season.
They had to wait to tell family because Cory's parents were out of the country on a cruise and they wanted to tell the whole family at once. They had Kelli and Cory's parent's, Cory's 3 grandparents, Katie, Ava and Brett over for dinner. Since there were so many recent birthday's they gave each birthday person a card with their new title on it. Grandma Nancy thought at first she got the wrong card. Papa Mike had to see the inside that was signed Baby Rolstad in order to figure it out (he is already Ava's papa). Grandpa Carr got it right away and Bernie jumped up and gave us all hugs. Ava was sitting on Katie's lap and was a little confused, she is just learning to write and read, so Katie whispered in her ear "Auntie is going to have a baby" and she burst into tears "I already have enough cousins!"
Ava since has warmed up to the idea and has started asking the baby not to make me sick, how it's feeling today and she even takes the Flintstone Vitamins with me. She is going to be a great Big Cousin!
There were about 5 weeks where Kelli was getting sick and 4-5 days of those where she could not eat, not-not eat or smell anything without running to the bathroom. It was funny to see how being prego naturally puts your body at arms length from toxins and things you should not be eating: mountain dew, beer, hamburger, milk, water, bananas, just about everything.
12.5 or 13 weeks - Kelli (and Cory too) is happy again because she can eat and keep it down:)

Hockey News:
We made it! We; meaning everyone in Kelli's life that has put up with her missing everything for hockey the past 13 year: THANK YOU!
In February 2010 Kelli went out to Vancouver for 19 days and officiated the women's hockey games in the Olympics. Cory, Ginger, Mike, Katie and Ava went for a week in the middle of her trip. They didn't get to attend any games as the 4 of the 5 games she worked, team Canada played in their home country, and they were sold out, but they did get to see some other games in person. Kelli worked the Gold Medal game between USA and Canada.
If you would like to see photos from this trip go to www.kelliobrian.blogspot.com and click on "Feburuary" or "Olympics".
In late August USA Hockey sent Kelli to Alaska to instruct level 4 seminars. She flew into Fairbanks, instructed 1 seminar over 2 days, with a ton of sight seeing and then took the train down to Anchorage, instructed 1 more seminar. After a week alone Cory flew in and they traveled down the Keani peninsula for another week; seeing the sights, fishing and hiking.
One of the coolest things that Cory and Kelli have done, EVER, was go up in Joe's plane and fly down the face of a glacier!
For more photos look below on this blog or click below on "Alaska".
Another 1st this year was when Kelli, Katie and Kevin jumped out of a plane. Enough said but there are more photos below.
Cory and Kelli are still living in Coon Rapids; it's been just over 2 years and celebrated thier 2 year anniversary in September. The 2 cats, Calamity and Catastrophe (Cat) still run the household.
We hope that you have a safe, fun holiday and wish you many blessings in this new upcoming year and would love to hear how you are doing!
God Bless,
Cory and Kelli Rolstad
